I thought this might amuse someone

I'm in a wedding at the end of September. The bride wants the bridesmaids to wear silver open toed shoes. I have a fitting for my tent, I mean, dress, next week so I went out a few nights ago to buy my shoes so I could have them at my fitting. I usually wear a size 5 1/2. I went to Lord & Taylor, they had about 8 different styles of silver open toed shoes. I thought "great, fabulous." I couldn't even fit my toes into a size 6. "Hmm, these must be made weird", I thought to myself. I move on down the mall and end up at Macy's. Again, about 8 different styles of silver open toed shoes. Some of them really really cute. I couldn't for the life of me fit my foot in past my toes on any of them except for one style. I mean I know my feet are a little swollen but that's not really the problem. It's like they are all spread out from carrying around the extra 27 lbs. Wearing flip flops all the time probably isn't helping since there's absolutely no support in those. It's like the place just below my toes, kind of like the knuckle of my foot, is spread out soooo wide. So I ended up buying a pair of shoes in a size 7. Yup from a 5 1/2 to a 7. They are too long but they have an adjustable strap around the leg/ankle and when it's set on the tightest setting they stay on my feet. They don't look ridiculous, but they do look big. But who the hell is going to be looking at my feet anyway? I just need to wear them through the ceremony and then I figure I can chuck 'em. Don't you think that's kind of funny? Hubby didn't seem to see the absurdity in it. He just doesn't get it. He thinks when you're pregnant your belly and your boobs get big he has no idea that so many other bizarre things go on with your body.
Okay, could I ramble any more about this.

but the worst part is, your feet don't go back down. (well ther est of me hasn't either, but you'd think my feet would have.)

Before any kids my feet were an 8 and a half. They're now a 10! A 10!

hmmm. My body on the other hand, used to be a 10, and now it's a, well, not a 10.

the things we do for children...

whoops,
that last comment was not from mel. She had been using my computer before, and I forgot to sign her out. It was from me. Mel has never been a size 10, even at her fattest. God I hate her sometimes :O)

I wear flip flops all the time too. BTW, I'm a size 5.5 as well, you can send me all your shoes if you never fit into them again. It will make me hate you less for having a cleaning service and free babysitting tuesdays and thursdays. :-> (Oops, did I just let on how jealous I am of you?)
