Random pic from our day

I can doodle ,you can doodle, everybody AQUADOODLE! If you don't have an Aquadoodle, get one. They are fabulous mess free coloring fun.

Adorable, need I say more.

Zoey hamming it up for the camera. Notice she got her first "real" haircut. I took her to the hairdresser to get rid of her mullet.

Lindsey being her usual adorable self.

Enjoying fudgecicles,(holy christ how do you spell that word???) You know what I mean, the chocolate frozen things.

My blog has been down FOREVER. But being the genius that I am, I managed to fix it.
Anywho, I just got back from my five day trip to Arizona, no kids, no husband. Can I just say, it was heaven. I didn't really even miss them either. I feel kind of weird about that, like I have some chromosomal defect in the mommy department. Maybe it's just that I was in such dire need of a break. I didn't really even do a whole lot. Went out to dinner every night, spent a day at a Spa, which was FABULOUS, sat around the pool, read a lot and slept more consecutive hours than I have in three years (not exaggerating).
You would think I would be fully recharged and ready to go this morning. But I was still miserable when Zoey woke me up at 5:30AM. What is wrong with that child!? FIVE FREAKIN THIRTY!!!! AHHHHH!

Okay just a side note. Does anyone else find it amusing that "blog" is not in the spell check. Every time I write "blog" it comes up in spell check with options like "blows" or "bloke".

Music to My Ears

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH
Do you recognize that sound? If you're a mom you might. It may very well be the most beautiful sound in the world. I heard it today at my doc appointment. It was the sound of my baby's heartbeat.

I suck today

I am just so damn tired I can't even function. The most I can seem to do is keep the kids fed and somewhat clean, but that's it. I'm not exaggerating when I say they watched 5 hours of tv today. Not all in a row but still, I let them watch FIVE FREAKIN HOURS OF TV! I suck. I laid on the couch curled under a blanket and dozed off and on while they stared dumbly at the tv screen. I hate this feeling. I can not wait for this phase to pass, it sucks.
I did finally gather up enough strength to lug our butts to the grocery store late this afternoon. I was starving so I of course made several ridiculous impulse purchases that will likely never really get eaten. While loading up the car with all the groceries I noticed I had a bag of someone elses food that was put in with my stuff by the ingenious check out lady. It was two packs of ground beef and some other stuff. I don't even eat ground beef, couldn't it have been like two pints of Ben and Jerrys or something. Since I already had the kids in their careseats and it was freezing out I had no intention of going back into the store and waiting in the stupid customer service line to get my money back. So I suppose I could just make the kids some meatballs or burgers or something.
When I got home I discovered I didn't pay for the mystery bag of groceries at all. They aren't on my receipt so the poor sap behind me in line got really ripped off. I hope this isn't going to create any bad karma against me for not returning the goods.

Nothing new to report. I will be gone for the weekend. Hopefully I'll have something exciting in my life to blog about next week.

While at preschool pick up today I was chatting with a fellow mom. She has a 19 month old son who is usually with her at pickup time. So I said, "where's Eric today?" (the 19 month old). She replied, "oh he's sleeping in the car." Hmmm, well maybe his dad's in the car too I thought to myself. You know, it was one of those moments when I didn't know what to say but after I walked away I had a dozen great comments I should have given her.
So ten minutes later as I'm walking out to my car I notice her 19 month old asleep ALONE in their car. WTF!!!! Now it's not like the preschool is in someone's house where MAYBE it would be okay to leave a sleeping toddler in the car (which I still personally wouldn't do). The preschool is in this large building that used to be a middle school but now houses probably a dozen businesses. There are people going in and out of that parking lot constantly. What a moron. If I notice him asleep alone in the car again I'm going to call the cops on her. What a dipshit.

Every day I just want to puke and then go back to bed, curled up in the fetal position not to be disrupted for the remainder of the day. Of course this is impossible seeing that I have two small children to care for. So I like to remind myself of how much worse I had it when I was pregnant with Zoey. That way I don't feel quite as sorry for my current condition.
When pregnant with Zoey: When I had to change Lindsey's poopy diaper I would bring two plastic shopping bags with me. One to throw the dirty diaper in and the other to puke into. I started doing this after a couple of unpleasant incidents that involved me puking all over myself while holding onto a poop filled diaper. Not fun.
So every day I remind myself that at the very least this hasn't happened to me this time, YET.

You know what I hate about morning sickness? Every time I throw up I pee my pants a little. If I really have to pee at the time of the puking incident I pee my pants more than just a little. It's really pleasant. I need to do some kegels (sp?) apparently.

I've been having a kind of crappy week but I have found a new friend to help. They are peanut butter filled hershey kisses. They literally melt in your mouth. I think I may have had a mini orgasm upon my first taste. They are divine.

I don't know if I should be concerned or relieved but I don't have any nausea this morning. Hmmmm

It's Girl Scout cookie time!!!

One of my neighbors delivered the goods to me today. I'm still waiting on some more boxes from another neighbor. I couldn't buy from one neighbors kid and not the other so of course I ordered far too many. And isn't it curious how I have horrible morning sickness (actually all day sickness, who the hell gave it the name "morning sickness" anyway) and nothing appeals to me and every time I smell food or taste food I want to throw up BUT several peanut butter patties later I feel just swell.

Our Weekend

Zoey sporting her paper plate hat she made at playgroup this past week. She's VERY proud of it.

On Saturday we took the girls to the Ecotarium. It's kind of like a science museum and zoo in one. Here they are building something, I'm not certain what it's supposed to be exactly. Some hands on activity they had there.

On Sunday I took the girls to visit my parents in the big city. Even though they live in the middle of a major city there is a fabulous playground right near their condo.

While me and the girls were in the city Hubby was supposed to be putting the final coat of paint on the kitchen walls. Well, we were gone all afternoon and he managed to NOT finish painting. Didn't even come close. What on earth was he doing with his free time??!!!

Friday, March 03, 2006

I had a doc appt today and my official due date is FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH! I hate to admit it but that's freaking me out a little bit. Both of my girls were born on their due dates. Who would want to go through life being born on friday the 13th. Every time something bad happened in your life you could just blame the day you were born.

It's finally happening

Ever since we moved into this house (3 years ago) we have planned on turning our unfinished basement into a family/play room.We talk about it. We even got some money to do it. Then we talk about it again. But today I see Hubby outside loading up his pick up with some items from the basement. He had the queen size mattress set in the back of his truck. My first thought was, " oh crap. He's finally fed up and he's just taking everything to the dump." The mattress set used to be in our spare bedroom but we recently renovated that room into his home office so the mattress set was thrown down into the basement. But nope, he wasn't throwing everything away at the dump. He rented a storage unit and was clearing out the basement so we can FINALLY begin framing it out into a play room. I say "we" but really I'm not doing anything. Just supervising. I told him about a year ago that we couldn't even consider having a third baby until we had a playroom. I guess the unexpected "bundle" has motivated him.
Now let's just see how long this whole project lasts. When we remodeled our kitchen last year it took nearly 8 months to fully complete. Anyone want to place any bets on how long this will take???

Lindsey had her first visit to the dentist the other day. I thought she was going to be scared. She has this fear of noisey electronic type things. She's petrified of the vacuum, the blender etc. So I thought for sure the noise of the toothbrush was going to freak her out. But she wasn't scared at all. She was quite the little chatterbox instead. She got to choose the flavor of toothpaste, she chose cookie dough which she thought was just marvelous. I of course wanted to puke at the thought of it. She also got to have a marshmallow flavored vitamin treatment put on her teeth. Again, BLACH, but she enjoyed it. The dentist said her teeth look perfect, which was such a relief. I still remember my first visit to the dentist. I was older than Lindsey, maybe 5 or 6. And I had SIX cavities. God, that was horrible. That started my life long loathing of the dentist's chair.
